I think the text above says everything or shows a chronology about innovation and future of work. Even if the crowd got it, it's not an innovation anymore.
So if you want to prevent these circle, adopt as early as the new info is on the market as well as better tools are available.
I believe, that for experts it takes less than 24 hours, for example to check, if e.g. a software is smarter and better than the old one you use. You do not have to wait 3 years until you will roll it out to your people. Smart and agile work does not have a 5 years plan, this is the big mistake, all companies do at the moment, because they are now in my 2011.
As a headhunter you need to be fast and need to have actual data all the time, this is important for us and this is why my workflow is so, that I can change all my workflows and databases within 1-3 days totally and emigrate into any other system, which is smarter, than the system I use now. This is a new way of thinking but impossible with the old SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Microsoft systems and thinking of IT workflows.
So think also about, what happens, if the internet is down for more then 24 hours or 7 days or 1 month in case of a global blackout. Is your data safe and also offline available e.g. o print?
These are the future topics we should have in mind, as well as fast adoption and if learning is no problem for you, as everybody is yelling now on social media, how he/she loves life-long-learning (which should be normally) then it's also not a problem to learn a new, smarter IT system within 3 days.
Maybe it's a human problem, that Innovations become Trends, when the Innovation is over, I don't know, but I think it should be possible to start the thing in the second they are available. It's possible, when the new iPhone comes out, that people wait in a row and buy it, so why we can't adopt this behavior regarding work, workflows, innovation, new tools, IT, smart work? Yes, it's more work and if you just believe in a 9-5 job, then you won't do that extra mile, which would costs you maybe 1 week extra work, even if you work smarter after this innovation.
For me it's now funny to see, when I went through my blog posts from 4-5 years ago, when I see that 90% of that, what I was believing in during this time, is now the new normal.
Maybe it's just a German and Austrian problem / habit, that people here are resistant against innovation and change in the beginning and turn into enthusiastic ambassadors 3-5 years later.
So, think over this, when you really want to be innovative, and not just the backbone of the US and Asia, where the innovation starts. We in Western Europe (Germany/Austria/Switzerland) are not like the German Democratic Republic with a 5 years plan or are we? So, when I see my friends and colleagues from CEE and SEE, I think the western part of Europe can learn a lot from these people regarding early adoption and just doing it. This is why smart companies have an office since at least 8 years in Bucharest, Warsaw, Vilnius, Sofia, Budapest, Prague, etc pp., especially in the IT industry.
So, start adopting faster and do not celebrate innovations on social media, which exist for 8 years, but only you were too late, until you got it, that it's an innovation.
Innovation is hard work and needs the courage to do it then, when it comes up, not 5 years later. :-):-p
